Impostor Syndrome
Impostor Syndrome
11x17 print limited edition of 100 and signed
While I was sketching this out I had been going through some things of people telling what my work meant to them and it was hard for me to believe I touched people the way I did. I had heard of imposter syndrome but never experienced it is weird. I don't see myself as better than anyone for the most part and big skill discrepancies I tend to think about it as what people chose to focus on doing. But, to say that it was humbling to hear what my art meant from someone I think of as very much a more well-adjusted individual in life made me feel like a fake. It took me a day for me to shake that feeling. After experiencing that I can say it is weird and it makes you think about what you are doing and the impact you have on others just by existing. It should go without saying that I hope I do more harm than good to the world before I leave it.
