Some people when they are defensive seem to coat their words with venom to not just let them sting but mess with you long after the problem is gone. The guilt trips, the snide remarks about things that challenged you they thought were easy, and even the outright insults start to add up and make you a venomous person too. I have been on both sides of that pushing venom into the world. Both sides suffer from it. One becomes untrusting and hurt. The other becomes isolated and lonely.
